Learn about the mission of the Oklahoma Chapter, Jefferson Highway Association

Oklahoma Chapter of the Jefferson Highway Association

The Oklahoma Chapter of the Jefferson Highway Association was founded in May 2024 at the National Conference in Alexandria, LA as the first state chapter

Vision Statement

The Jefferson Highway Oklahoma Association envisions a vibrant corridor where travelers on the modern road connect with the rich history of the Jefferson Highway. We see the Jefferson Highway not just as asphalt, but as a testament to the enduring spirit of Oklahoma. We strive to be a premier travel destination, fostering economic growth and cultural appreciation by preserving the legacy of the “Pines to Palms” highway and the stories it holds.

Towards this vision, we will…

  • Increase awareness of the Jefferson Highway through Oklahoma,
  • Advance research into historical Jefferson Highway routes, planning, and decision makings through Oklahoma,
  • Collect historical media, ephemera, and other items of antiquity relating to the Jefferson Highway through Oklahoma, and
  • Promote tourism along the Jefferson Highway through Oklahoma.

Our parent organization, Jefferson Highway Association, is a non-profit organization that aims to preserve, promote and enhance the historic Jefferson Highway auto trail, which runs from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Winnipeg, Canada.
