The Jefferson Highway named businesses were popular along the route. Pryor had a Jefferson Highway Café near the intersection of North Adair Street and Graham Avenue. The restaurant featured fish every Friday, chicken every Tuesday and Thursday, and ham and cabbage every Saturday.
