Jefferson Highway Historic Site
In 1925, a “hotel committee” appointed by the Chamber of Commerce, traveled to Oklahoma City to meet with Huckins Hotel Company to secure a “new, modern hotel” for the City of Durant. Approximately $225,000 was needed for the construction. It became a welcome destination for Jefferson Highway travelers.
